Participants will learn how to utilize various perspectives and approaches of working with survivors of trauma, including neurobiological, holistic, humanist, cognitive behavioral, and community-based. Participants will leave the workshop with new tools for how to facilitate healing when working with people who have experienced trauma.
Who Should Attend:
Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and any professional that is working in the mental health field.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn the neurobiology of trauma and the ways that trauma impacts brain development.
- Through interactive learning methods, participants will learn new strategies for engaging and working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
- Participants will learn about holistic modalities used to treat trauma and stress.
- Participants will also learn about how structured peer support can be a vital tool in supporting trauma survivors.
