Profiled in an Emmy Award-winning episode of Growing A Greener World, GBM partners with NYC Department of Education and SUNY to train educators, expanding access to healthy foods across the state. This free event will also feature the following:
- Farm to School Panel - models for utilizing “plant-based learning” to integrate locally grown food into the meal program, curriculum and beyond.
- Physical Activity - effective tools that schools can incorporate to increase access to and participation in physical activity, as part of a comprehensive school physical activity program (CSPAP).
- Breakfast Panel - exemplars of successful breakfast programs, barriers and facilitators to implementation, as well as information on new legislation that discusses counting breakfast in the classroom towards instructional time.
