Walk With a Doc: Sunken Meadow

Join the Long Island Health Collaborative, AARP Long Island, Stony Brook Medicine, the Suffolk County Office of Minority Health, and the Long Island Sound Study for a very special installment of Walk with a Doc at Sunken Meadow State Park, located right on the estuary that is the Long Island Sound.

  • Dr. Anupama Paranandi of Stony Brook Medicine will discuss how we can prevent and manage chronic diseases as we age.
  • Adesuwa Watson, Director of Suffolk County DOH’s Office of Minority Health will share insight into the OMH’s efforts to align with the Long Island Sound Study to improve equity in the region and access to the Long Island Sound for all
  • Jimena Perez-Viscasillas, Long Island Sound Study Outreach Coordinator will speak about the New York Sea Grant, the Long Island Sound Study/Long Island Sound Estuary Program, and environmental health

After hearing from Dr. Parandi, Ms. Watson, and Ms. Perez-Viscasillas, they will join attendees on a walk through beautiful Sunken Meadow Park.

Get in some steps, talk with our docs along the way, and learn about the actions you can take now to live a healthier life for good.
